ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL 2014
wednesday march 26, 2014
What a great way to come back to blogging with the perfect post from the perfect designer that has inspired me ever since the day I was interested in fashion. Alexander McQueen has been one of the most inspiring designer and brand that has helped me to motivate myself in anything artistic I do. From the inspiration to the designs and the mood every garment entails, it's like a fashion orgasm in my heart and soul. For the fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection Sarah Burton has captured Alexander as if he was alive and with us again. Her theme "wild beauty" has got to be spot on with this collection. From the setting of the show to the coloration of the garments and the makeup of the models is perfection to me. The mood is dark and beautiful at the same time. There's something whimsical to me about it, maybe that's just me. Sarah wanted to feature the face of the models this time around and the body. She wanted to avoid covering the face with hats and helmets, but also avoid using the usual corsets that are usually involved in all the previous collections. Though she limited these, she has managed to develop a collection that was will true to her and the McQueen brand. From the hand sewn crystals to the hand painted chiffon and organza, this collection has brought back beauty when it comes to a dark palette. When fashion week starts McQueen is the collection I always look forward to seeing because even though most of the garments can be seen as theatrical I see them as art and if I were a female I'm sure you will all catch me wearing these pieces down market street on a daily basis. Well done to Sarah, it's as if Alexander is in her body and I think that is how she is able to present us with such a MAJOR collection year after year. Well I think this is a good start to me coming back to blogging, slowly finding inspiration and getting my mojo back. Hope you all didn't miss me too much.
