ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL 2014

What a great way to come back to blogging with the perfect post from the perfect designer that has inspired me ever since the day I was interested in fashion. Alexander McQueen has been one of the most inspiring designer and brand that has helped me to motivate myself in anything artistic I do. From the inspiration to the designs and the mood every garment entails, it's like a fashion orgasm in my heart and soul. For the fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection Sarah Burton has captured Alexander as if he was alive and with us again. Her theme "wild beauty" has got to be spot on with this collection. From the setting of the show to the coloration of the garments and the makeup of the models is perfection to me. The mood is dark and beautiful at the same time. There's something whimsical to me about it, maybe that's just me. Sarah wanted to feature the face of the models this time around and the body. She wanted to avoid covering the face with hats and helmets, but also avoid using the usual corsets that are usually involved in all the previous collections. Though she limited these, she has managed to develop a collection that was will true to her and the McQueen brand. From the hand sewn crystals to the hand painted chiffon and organza, this collection has brought back beauty when it comes to a dark palette. When fashion week starts McQueen is the collection I always look forward to seeing because even though most of the garments can be seen as theatrical I see them as art and if I were a female I'm sure you will all catch me wearing these pieces down market street on a daily basis. Well done to Sarah, it's as if Alexander is in her body and I think that is how she is able to present us with such a MAJOR collection year after year. Well I think this is a good start to me coming back to blogging, slowly finding inspiration and getting my mojo back. Hope you all didn't miss me too much.

TECHNOLOGIC TRIBAL

GIVENCHY MENS SPRING 2014
saturday july 27, 2013

Talk about amazing print overload. Now we all know Ricardo Tisci is known for some amazing graphics like the birds of paradise, rottweiler, and madonna prints that he has released these past couple of years. When he released his spring '14 mens collection I was just amazed and gagging. This collection has got to be on one my favorites by far from his mens collection. As his opening look wasn't major enough, the following looks were just as amazing. Print after print after print, such bold graphics and perfect color choices this is what I call print overload at it's finest. He labeled the collection "NERD AFRICA" taking technological prints and reconstructing it to make it look tribal. Now where does one come up with this idea and how does Ricardo's mind function? The man is just an artistic genius, a visionary, and an architect when it comes to constructing garments and generating prints. Of course one will not wear the full look coming down the runway on the streets. These are pieces that one will take individually and style it to their own aesthetic. The symmetry of how the prints are laid out, especially in the suiting is something not easy to do when dealing with such loud prints. Everything he does, from prints to styling is all him and his lifestyle and his experiences. That is one thing a brilliant designer needs to have. It's raw and organic, every collection he does speaks to a very large group of fashion cats. Especially the younger generation. This is a collection that I will absolutely be saving up for because I need to have one of these prints in my closet. MAJOR!

So my good friend Jeff from Vancouver spontaneously showed up in San Francisco one day without letting me know. Of course if you're around me there's only one thing that I love to and that is, SHOPPING. What better way to shop downtown SF than with someone who loves to shop. My apologies that it's so long, but we purchased so many things that it was so hard to make it short. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy and don't forget to check out my other videos. Also don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE of course.

STRUCTURE MEETS STREET

BALENCIAGA MENS SPRING 2014

Ever since Alexander Wang took over as creative director of the house of Balenciaga, he has managed to change and elevate the brand into something more modern, chic, fresh, and MAJOR. Still staying true to his aesthetic he has managed to blend and intertwine his street style with the clean structured lines of the Balenciaga look. Now for this collection I love the choices of neutrals with no colors and prints. However, it would have been nice to see at least one pop of color considering it is spring. When it comes to Balenciaga in the past, the brand always has at least 1 pop bold color. Even though there is no color, the detailing is fine with me. From the clean lines and fit of the suiting, to the edge of the see through piecing of the outerwear and third pieces Wang has got this collection on lock. It's simple yet sophisticated with the right amount of edge. So modern and so European, the pieces in this collection is a must in your wardrobe for next spring. AMAZING!
